This stamp issue, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Korean War, was released to coincide with the dedication of the new Australian National Korean War Memorial in Canberra. This issue honours the members of the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal Australian Air Force and Three Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, which represented Australia in the Korean War. The stamp features the relevant Australian, Commonwealth and United Nations Korean service medals, against a photograph of the Korean landscape taken at the 38th parallel.
