This set of stamps was issued by Australia Post to commemorate the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference and the Commonwealth of Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), both held in Australia in 2001. The stamp design was created using the names of the Commonwealth member countries. The Parliamentary Conference stamp includes the Southern Cross in its design while the CHOGM stamp shows Australia in its position on the globe. Although only two stamps are issued, when placed as a block of four stamps (as per above), the design reveals the entire globe within the overall design.
