Conservation work for Mawson's Huts began in 1962. The AAP Mawson's Huts Foundation was established to ensure that these buildings are conserved in perpetuity. Above stamps feature Mawson as a young man, with an architectural drawing of the main hut and Frank Hurley's famous photograph of Cape Denison (45c se-tenant), huskies taken by Xavier Mertz (90c) and the conservation team at work during 1997 (AU$1.35).
