Malaysia achieved its independence on the historic day of 31 Aug 1957. Pos Malaysia issued a set of two stamps to celebrate Malaysia's 46th independence in 2003. The stamps feature the Malaysian flag flying majestically on its massive flag pole at Merdeka Square, with Sultan Abdul Samad Building at the background (30 sen); and the Jalur Gemilang (RM1.00), the official name for the Malaysian flag with effect from 31 Aug 1997. The RM1.00 stamp is indeed a huge stamp!
