Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), the Sultan Idris University of Education, was founded on 29 Nov 1922. It was known as Sultan Idris Training College (SITC) when first founded, and was renamed to Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris (MPSI) in 1957. It was upgraded as an institute in 1987 and was renamed Institusi Perguruan Sultan Idris (IPSI). In was changed to university status in 1997 and was renamed Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). This stamp issue, to commemorate UPSI's 80th anniversary in 2002, features the Suluh Budiman Building (30 sen), the Chancellery Building (50 sen) and the Tadahan Selatan Building (50 sen).
