Each year, the Australian Legends Award pays tribute to famous Australians for their significant contribution to the country. The Australian Legends Award 2003 goes to two great tennis players – Margaret Court MBE and Rod Laver MBE. The stamps feature Margaret Court with her 1965 Wimbledon trophy and her in action hitting one of her powerful forehands; as well as Rod Laver holding his 1969 Wimbledon trophy after winning the title for the fourth time and him in action about to hit a backhand.
