Australia Post has been issuing stamps for Christmas Island since 1993. Through the years, Christmas Island Christmas stamps have been depicting tropical visions of Santa's visit, incorporating island features into the stamp designs. The stamps in this issue feature Santa arriving at Christmas Island astride a Whaleshark, while being escorted by Red-footed Booby Birds (45c) as well as Santa sitting on a Green Turtle while distributing gifts (50c).
