Fishing is one of the most popular recreational activities in Australia. It can be a gentle, relaxing pastime in the hope of a nice little catch, or a serious mental and physical challenge. Each stamp in this issue features a popular recreational fish and a spot where that fish can be found – the Snapper and the Southern Australian beach, the Murray Cod and a river with lots of dead trees, the Brown Trout and the Tasmanian lakes region, the Yellowfin Tuna and a rocky headland as well as the Barramundi and a river mangrove area of Northern Australia.
