The existence of clock towers in every town in Malaysia portrays the recorded historical life of society, each tower having its own unique architecture and attractive design. The clock towers featured in this stamp issue are the Red Clock Tower in Melaka, the Jubilee Clock Tower in Pulau Pinang, the Sungai Petani Clock Tower in Kedah, the Teluk Intan Clock Tower in Perak and the Council Negeri Monument in Sarawak.

The "Red Clock Tower" stamp in above cover is an error stamp, as 1650 was printed on the stamp when in actual fact, the tower was built in 1886. The Dutch colonial administration building, Stadthuys was built in 1650, hence this could be the reason of the mixed up. Apparently, this was only realised much later and Pos Malaysia quietly withdrew the "Red Clock Tower" stamps.
