Kebaya Nyonya is one of the most beautiful traditional costumes in Malaysia. Heavily embroidered kebayas are usually worn during festive gatherings while simple scallop-edged ones are for daily activities. White, blue and green ones are reserved for mourning or to attend wakes. This lovely piece of art is traditionally worn with matching batek sarong and beaded slippers, and is fastened with a set of chained kerongsang (also known as kerosang), a costume jewelry that functions like a brooch. This stamp issue features these beautiful kebayas in various colours.
