Tame animals, also known as household pets, are actually descendants of their wild ancestors. Having adapted to an existence among humans for centuries, these animals have lost their wild instincts. This stamp issue, in conjunction with 2002 Stamp Week in Malaysia, features two of these tame animals, with their corresponding wild cousins – the Domestic Cat and the Leopard Cat (30 sen se-tenant) as well as the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo and the Buffy Fish-Owl (50 sen se-tenant).
