This set of stamps were issued by Pos Malaysia in 2004, the year when the national service programme was launched. Initiated by the Barisan Nasional government, this programme was conceived out of a desire to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the hearts and minds of Malaysian youths of eighteen years of age. The programme was abolished in 2018 under the Pakatan Harapan government. The stamps feature the logo of the programme (30 sen), youths in training (50 sen) and patriotism in the hearts of youths (RM1.00).
