This stamp issue is the final issue in the Nature of Australia definitive series, which started in 1996. The series has featured eucalyptus forest, wetlands, coastal, desert habitats and rainforest. This final issue features butterflies found in Daintree region of the Wet Tropics – the Red Lacewing (5c), Blue-banded Eggfly (10c) and the Cruiser (75c). The AU$2.00 stamp features the Daintree National Park, which is located at the heart of Queensland's Wet Tropics.
