The release of this set of stamps coincides with the XXII International Union of Forest Research Organisations (IUFRO) World Congress held in Brisbane in Aug 2005, and the stamps feature trees from different habitats and parts of Australia. Trees are not just beautiful, they are a vital part of the system that sustains life on the planet. Australian native trees featured in this stamp issue are the Snow Gum, Wollemi Pine, Boab, Karri and the Moreton Bay Fig.
