Malaysia, a country with rich intermingling of cultures, has a particularly rich and varied dance heritage. Each dance performance is a tapestry which weaves together exquisite costumes as well as delicate and expressive movements. This stamp issue features some of these traditional dances in Malaysia – Indian's Bharata Natyam Dance and Kathak Dance (30 sen), Chinese Fan Dance and Umbrella Dance (50 sen) as well as Malay's Tarian Asyik and Tarian Zapin (RM1.00).
