The World Veterans Federation (WVF) is an international NGO with veteran members from 86 countries. Established in Paris in 1950, WVF aims to unite the veterans, champion their rights and protect their interests worldwide. Malaysia hosted the 25th General Assembly of the WVF in Kuala Lumpur from 2 to 7 Dec 2006. This stamp issue, to commemorate this event, comprises of three stamps, featuring the WVF logo (30 sen), the 25th general assembly with Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the venue of the event, as the background (50 sen) as well as the Tugu Negara, a memorial built to honour soldiers who perished fighting for Malaysia's independence (RM1.00).
