The Special Air Service (SAS) is Australia's elite special forces, and their members are chosen through a tough selection and training process. The first SAS Company was officially formed in Jun 1957 in Swanbourne WA. Known for service in East Timor, Afghanistan and Iraq, SAS has also been deployed in Rwanda and Cambodia, and is the forefront of Australia's counter-terrorism effort. The single stamp in this issue features SAS members in action, alongside SAS logo and motto "Who Dares Wins".
