The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Conservation Stamp Collection is the world's largest thematic stamp collection, with over 165 countries participating. Each year, a handful of stamp sets are issued. The stamps will carry the WWF logo in its design. Most species depicted on the WWF stamp issues are at risk of extinction in the country of issue. This stamp issue, part of the WWF series, features the Royal Penguin, an important aspect of Australian Antarctic Territory's fauna. The stamps portray the penguins marching to nesting sites (50c), an adult penguin with an egg (50c), two penguins sparring (AU$1.00) and a male and a female snuggling (AU$1.00).
