Malaysia is a multiracial country, with a great mix of races, religion and culture. As such, there are many festivals being celebrated in Malaysia, some nationwide, while some only in a particular state. Most of these festivals are celebrated in conjunction with a religious occasion or a tradition. This stamp issue by Pos Malaysia features the main festivals celebrated by the three main races in Malaysia – Hari Raya Aidilfitri, celebrated by the Muslims (30 sen), Chinese New Year, celebrated by the Chinese (50 sen) and Deepavali, celebrated by the Hindus (RM1.00).
