The richness and diversity of Malaysian traditional costumes can be seen throughout the length and breadth of the country. There is a great variety of beautiful costumes which differ in style and design from state to state. Sabah and Sarawak, rich in tradition and culture from its many ethnic and indigenous people further contributed to the fashion heritage of Malaysia. The miniature sheet of this stamp issue features the Iban traditional costumes – male Baju Burung and female ceremonial dress; as well as the Kadazan traditional costumes – male ceremonial costume worn during Sumazau dance and female ceremonial Kadazan Papar costume.
