Malaysians are most fortunate to witness the rich legacy of traditional costumes of various ethnic groups and communities in Malaysia as their very own cultural identity that they can be proud of. There is a great variety of beautiful costumes which differ in style and design from state to state. The Malaysian traditional costumes become a kaleidoscope of colours. This stamp issue features the traditional costumes of the three main races of Malaysia – Vaishti and Saree of the Indians, Samfoo and Cheongsam of the Chinese as well as Baju Melayu and Baju Kurung of the Malays.
