Animals live in virtually every type of habitat available in the Malaysian rainforest. Among these animals, nocturnal animals travel and feed mainly during the night, as opposed to diurnal animals, who move about during the day. Due to the reduced amount of light at night, nocturnal animals generally have good night vision to allow them to seek out prey and to avoid predators. The nocturnal animals featured in this stamp issue are the Moonrat (30 sen), Javan Stink Badger (30 sen), Asian Golden Cat (50 sen) and the Large Flying Fox (RM1.00).
