Malaysia possesses a rich diversity of tropical fruits, with many fruit species grouped under rare fruits. The production of rare fruits is rather limited due to low number of trees available for each species. These rare fruits are usually grown in home gardens or orchards. In continuation to previous issue on rare fruits – Series I (issued on 10 Jan 1998) and Series II (issued on 27 Feb 1999), Pos Malaysia issued another set of stamps on rare fruits in 2006, this time featuring Terap Bulu (30 sen), Cermai (50 sen) and Beruas (RM1.00).
