Every capital city in the world has its much-loved tourist precincts. This stamp issue features some of Australia's most popular tourist destinations. Luna Park in Melbourne (55c) is known for its enormous face facade that welcomes visitors to Melbourne's world of fun. The South Bank of Brisbane (55c) has become synonymous with the arts in the capital city of Queensland. The Rocks in Sydney (55c), with its mix of cafes, galleries, pubs, shops and historic buildings within sight of Sydney Harbour, makes for a memorable tourist experience. Fishermans Wharf in Fremantle (55c) attracts visitors who enjoyed its relaxed atmosphere. Foreshore in Cairns (AU$1.10) is a boardwalk suspended over the mudflats to link the city's sights.
