William Dean successfully flew 13 kilometres across Melbourne on 1 Feb 1858, being the first to fly a hot air balloon in Australia. Celebrating 150 years of ballooning in Australia, this set of four colourful stamps has been designed to depict the richness and diversity of Australian landscape – Sydney NSW, Mt. Feathertop VIC, Canberra ACT and the Western MacDonnell Ranges NT, as the balloons pass gently overhead these landscape.
