2007 celebrates the Year of the Surf Lifesaver, also the centenary of Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA). Surf Bathing Association of NSW, now known as SLSA, was established in 1907 and it brought standardisation to surf lifesaving instruction, regulation and practice at the fledgling clubs around Sydney. To commemorate both events in 2007, this stamp issue features female lifesaver with a reel (50c), male lifesavers (50c), surf boat crew (AU$1.00), nippers (AU$2.00) and an inflatable rescue boat pushing powerfully through a wave (AU$2.45). The AU$2.45 stamp is the first Australian lenticular stamp to be produced. This stamp, when held at the right angle, shows the inflatable rescue boat moving to and fro, crashing through the surf.
