Every year since 1997 Australia Post has honoured the achievements of eminent Australians with a stamp release marking the Australia Post Australian Legends Award. 2009 Australian Legends Award honours four prominent Australian actors and actresses, who have each received world recognition for the skill they bring to their craft. First block of four stamps features the four award recipients – Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Geoffrey Rush and Cate Blanchett; while the second block of four stamps features a film each actor/actress has acted in – Moulin Rouge!, Gladiator, Shine and Elizabeth : The Golden Age; respectively.
