Just a single stamp in this 2009 Christmas stamp issue by Australia Post for Christmas Island. Again, Santa Claus continues to take a break in the year's stamp design, however, the stamp still incorporates elements related to Christmas Island. The single stamp features the Christmas Island Frigatebird wearing Santa's hat, standing proudly with his stash of gifts, accompanied by a small coterie of marine friends. The grand pouch on the frigatebird signals not so much the season of love but the season of giving, resembling a festive Christmas bauble.
