The Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa, or Grand Knight of Valour, is the highest federal award and highest Armed Forces Gallantry Award conferred in Malaysia. It is ranked even higher than the Darjah Kerabat Diraja Malayia (D.K.M.), which is awarded to Malaysian Royalty. The award is in the form of a silver medal which has the shape of a crescent with the inscription "Gagah Perkasa". The stamps in this issue feature images of military forces (60 sen and 80 sen) as well as civilian (70 sen), as the award may be conferred to any eligible person, both military and civilian, for one's "supreme courage and bravery in extraordinary and highly dangerous situations".
