This stamp issue features paintings by five living Indigenous artists, and the paintings featured are selected from the rich collections of Indigenous art held in Australia's major public collections – in this case the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of South Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria. The five paintings featured are Mamu by Nura Rupert, 2008 (55c), All the Jila by Jan Billycan, 2006 (55c), Mina Mina by Judy Napangardi Watson, 2004 (55c), Untitled from the Mission series by Elaine Russell, 2006 (AU$1.40) and Natjula by Tjuruparu Watson, 2003 (AU$2.05).
