Paying a visit to the local market in any state in Malaysia is a good way to discover the way of life of the people from that state. Each market from the different states has different culture, way of life and unique characteristics. Some markets sell both non-perishable and perishable products, such as the Pasar Siti Khadijah in Kelantan (30 sen se-tenant); while some markets sell only non-perishable products, such as the Pasar Kraf Tangan in Sabah (50 sen se-tenant). Despite the growing numbers of many supermarkets that offer more hygienic and conducive shopping environment, the local market is still the preferred market to shop for the family's need.
