This stamp issue by Pos Malaysia aims to highlight the importance of good health, and to acknowledge Malaysia's achievements in the field of medical science at the international level. The country's achievements, as featured in the stamps, include in the area of Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency (LSCD), whereby researchers have successfully developed the bioengineered ocular tissue for transplantation of cultivated limbal epithelium (30 sen); Premaxilla Retractor, a device innovated by the country's medical experts to help babies born with cleft lip (50 sen); as well as Arm Transplant, whereby the first arm transplant surgery was successfully performed by the country's medical personnel onto a deformed limb (RM1.00).
