This stamp issue by Pos Malaysia features spices normally used in Malaysian cooking. Spices can transform a meal by adding a range of flavours and aroma, from a hint of sweetness to a kick of heat. Spices can be aromatic or pungent in flavours and peppery or slightly bitter in taste. This allows one to be creative and adventurous with his or her cooking, and best of all, preventing us from eating another bland meal. Three commonly used spices are featured in this stamp issue – cinnamon (60 sen), star anise (90 sen) and cardamom (RM1.00).
