The Temple of Preah Vihear in Cambodia is an ancient Hindu temple built during the reign of the Khmer Empire. It is situated atop a 525-metre cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains, in the Preah Vihear province, 400 km north of Phnom Penh and 140 km northeast of Angkor – in immediate proximity to Cambodia's border with Thailand. The Temple of Preah Vihear was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7 Jul 2008. This stamp issue by The Ministry of Posts and Communications of the Kingdom of Cambodia is to commemorate this event.
