A series of stamps featuring traditional textile of Indonesia were issued by Pos Indonesia in 2011 in conjunction with the World Philatelic Exhibition "INDONESIA 2012", held in Jakarta in 2012. These stamps were launched during Jogja Stamp and Numismatic Stamp Show 2011, an early campaign leading to INDONESIA 2012. Known as "JOGJA 2011", the exhibition was held from 30 Mar 2011 to 3 Apr 2011. The stamp in this official commemorative cover of JOGJA 2011 features the Batik Parang Garuda, a hand drawn batik in parang and garuda motifs. Parang, also known as the keris or sword pattern, are the most powerful of batik motifs, with their strong parallel diagonal lines. Meanwhile, garuda is the mystical creature in Hindu mythology.
