A UNESCO World Heritage Site is a specific site that has been nominated and confirmed for inclusion on the list maintained by the International World Heritage Programme administered by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. The designation as a World Heritage Site brings a certain prestige to a location and its home country. Malaysia is proud to have four sites that have been declared as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, of which are being featured in this stamp issue – Mulu National Park in Sarawak, Kinabalu Park in Sabah, Bandar Hilir in Melaka and Georgetown in Pulau Pinang.
