The Fire Brigade was established in Macau on 2 May 1883, whereby the early firefighting work was governed by Xiangshan County Government of Guangdong Province. From the late 19th century to present, the fire brigade has developed into today's army with advanced equipment and more than 1,000 personnel. To commemorate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the Fire Brigade in Macau, Macau Post issued a set of stamps illustrating selected fire stations, together with the evolution of fire rescue vehicles across time – Central Fire Station & Fire Services Museum and a British style manual pump (1.50 P); Taipa Fire Station and a British style ladder (2.50 P); Areira Preta Fire Station and an Aerial ladder platform (3.50 P); as well as the Headquarters of Fire Brigade & Sai Van Lake Fire Station and a high reach extendable turret stinger (4.00 P).
