Opened in 1874, formerly a military hospital, Conde de São Januário General Hospital is also commonly known as "The Hill-top Hospital". Macau Post issued a set of commemorative stamps to celebrate the 140th anniversary of Conde de São Januário General Hospital in 2014. The single stamp in the miniature sheet features the figure 140, signifying 140th anniversary of the hospital, with images of the old and current hospital buildings in the background. The architecture of the old hospital buildings is a phenomenal representation of the British neo-Gothic design of a famous Belgian hospital.
