Chiang Mai Rajabhat University was founded in 1924 and started as a teacher training college. It was later promoted to Chiang Mai Teachers College, then to Rajabhat Institute and eventually to Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. Celebrating the university's 90th anniversary in 2014, the single stamp in this issue features the image of Ganesha, being the patron of arts and sciences or the university's deity; along with the university's 90th anniversary emblem at the top right of the stamp.
