In conjunction with Year of the Horse 2014, Pos Malaysia released this set of horse-themed stamps. Horses were domesticated some 4,000 years ago and they still remain essential to many societies and honoured in many cultures. Horses are loosely divided into three categories, namely the spirited Horsebloods with speed and endurance; Coldbloods such as ponies for slow, heavy work; and Warmbloods for specific riding purposes. The stamps in this issue are based on the original paintings depicting Polo Sport (50 sen), Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) Mounted Unit (50 sen), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) Mounted Unit (80 sen) and Mounted Ceremonial Squadron (80 sen).
