The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 Aug 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Brunei subsequently joined on 7 Jan 1984, Vietnam on 28 Jul 1995, Laos and Myanmar on 23 Jul 1997, and Cambodia on 30 Apr 1999, making up what is today the ten Member States of ASEAN. Pos Malaysia issued this set of stamps in honour of Malaysia's chairmanship of ASEAN 2015, Malaysia's fourth chairmanship since the inception of ASEAN, featuring stamps in line with the chairmanship theme – Our People (60 sen), Our Community (80 sen) and Our Vision (RM1.20). The event was held in Kota Kinabalu.
