This stamp issue by Thailand Post celebrates the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Birthday Anniversary on 5 Dec 2013 and the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research. The stamp features the newly discovered species of jasmine, Mali Chalermnarin or Jasminum Bhumibolianum Chalermglin, being its scientific name. The name Mali Chalermnarin was given by His Majesty the King himself, and it means "Jasmine Extolling the King".
