This stamp issue is the third series issued by Pos Malaysia on Malaysian or national unity. Series I, issued on 24 Aug 2002 (click here for more details), highlights the unique unity in Malaysia's multi racial and diverse backgrounds, while Series II, issued on 30 Aug 2012, highlights unity through language, sports, dance and gotong-royong. Series III, which is this issue, features the concept of national unity as cooperative among all Malaysian regardless of race, ethnicity and religion, based on common interest to form a nation that is peaceful, prosperous and harmonious. This can be achieved, as featured in the stamps, by having a Spirit of Cooperation, Spirit of Community, Spirit of Compassion and Spirit of Consideration.
