Issued in conjunction with Year of the Monkey 2016, the first stamp issue in 2016 by Pos Malaysia is a continuation on the earlier stamp issue on Primates of Malaysia (Series I issued on 16 Dec 2003). The Malaysian rainforest is a biodiverse landscape that is home to a total of 19 species of primates. The tropical climate of the country features uniform temperature, high humidity and copious rainfall; offering the perfect sanctuary for these primates. The distinctive species of primates featured in this stamp issue are the Macaque (60 sen), Silvered Leaf Monkey (70 sen) and the White-handed Gibbon (80 sen).
