Table tennis, a game originated from UK, is a derivative of tennis. It is a sport whereby players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table divided by a net, using a small bat. Honoured as the "national game" of China, China has been playing a dominant role in table tennis, and the achievements made in the game has been a brand of the Chinese sports arena. Sweden also plays an important role in table tennis in the world due to its traditional competitiveness in Europe. This joint stamp issue by China Post and PostNord Sweden features two techniques of the game – Loop Drive and Forehand Service. Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by PostNord Sweden are both at a denomination of 6 kr.
