This stamp issue by Pos Malaysia celebrates Malaysia's 61 years of independence in 2018. Incorporating the year's National Day theme of "Sayangi Malaysiaku", the stamps feature the Jalur Gemilang, Malaysia's national flag, indicating unity, as well as iconic buildings of Malaysia such as KL Tower, Petronas Twin Towers, Perdana Putra, the Sarawak State Legislative Building in Kuching and the Sabah State Administrative Centre Building in Kota Kinabalu. The annual event in 2018 has a deeper meaning as Malaysia celebrated its National Day with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who was appointed for the second time as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
