2020 marks a special anniversary for the United Nations (UN) – 75 years from the signing of the UN Charter in San Francisco. The UN is an international organisation founded in 1945, with purposes to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international cooperation and be a centre for harmonising the actions of nations. Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the UN, the stamps in this issue feature the UN Headquarters as well as the UN and Singapore Flags (1st Local), United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (70c), Aranda Orchid and tribute to the Convention on Mediation (90c) and Singapore's peace keeping forces (S$1.40).
