Centuries of cultural diversity, legacy and tradition have produced a strong arts and crafts culture in Malaysia. The painstaking skills have been passed down from generation to generation to recreate the same exquisite masterpieces. This stamp issue by Pos Malaysia features some of these exquisite carvings and crafts. As featured in the stamps in above cover are the Keris Demam Jawa and a beautifully crafted souvenir box, products of wood-carving craft (60 sen); Pasu Sarawak, an example of ceramic craft (80 sen); as well as the Wakid and Takinan, a unique bamboo craft from Sabah (RM1.00).
