In conjunction with World Post Day 2016, Pos Malaysia released its "Posmen Komuniti" (Community Postman) stamp series, a tribute to community postman, especially to those in rural areas, who overcome all manner of obstacles to fulfil the duties entrusted to them. The Posmen Komuniti programme was started back in 2010 in Sabah and Sarawak, in order to ensure last mile connectivity to some of the most remote areas and locations that are usually off the beaten path. The stamps feature some of the ways these community postmen use to get to rural communities – via horseback (60 sen), boat (70 sen) and bicycle (80 sen).
