This stamp issue, which has caused unease among nature and animal lovers, features some of the most exotic delicacies in Malaysia. This is Pos Malaysia's first exotic food-themed stamp issue, and it aims to highlight the variety of uncommon delicacies found and served in Malaysia; never intended to promote or encourage activities such as the hunting or consumption of exotic animals. The exotic foods featured in the stamps are distinctive and halal popular dishes in places like Langkawi and Perlis – sea cucumber salad, turmeric fried grasshoppers and porcupine steak and rendang.
